About Us

Welcome to my practice! I’m Jacquelyn M. Scott, a solo practice attorney dedicated to serving families in Middle Tennessee. Born in Nashville and raised in Carthage, I have a deep-rooted connection to this community. I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Vanderbilt University and my Juris Doctor from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.

I began my legal career in 2006, initially working for several law firms specializing in bankruptcy before opening my solo practice in 2010. Since then, I have focused on family law, including divorce, custody, dependency and neglect, and adoption, as well as consumer bankruptcy. My passion lies in helping families rebuild and find stability during challenging times. I take great pride in reuniting parents with their children and assisting grandparents in securing visitation rights. Nothing brings me more joy than helping families celebrate adoption days! I’m also well versed in the Tennessee Child Support Guidelines and am here to assist with child support enforcement, modifications, and defense.

In addition to my legal work, I previously served on the City Council of Carthage, TN, where I actively engaged with the community. I have been honored with the Tennessee Attorney for Justice Pro Bono Service Award in both 2024 and 2025, reflecting my commitment to providing accessible legal services to those in need.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy competing as a pro/am ballroom dancer- my favorite dances are the Viennese Waltz and cha-cha. Dance provides me with a much-needed creative outlet, teaching me the importance of connection and grace—qualities I strive to bring into my legal practice.
